About the
Instructor
Isabelle
has been a professional artist and designer for over 20 years. She started
her career in the garment center working a Fashion Illustrator and then
a Fashion Designer. Switching modes after starting a family, she began
a craft design business and returned to school receiving a degree in Advertising
Art and Design. She is currently working as a Decorating Consultant.
Isabelle has also devoted twenty years of service, as fine arts director,
for one of long Islands finest youth council programs.
I
began giving private art lessons fifteen years ago and devote several
evenings a week to working with my young students. The result is amazing.
I am very proud of all my young friends.
I feel that a good base is important and from there one can build their
own style. I usually start out with pencil and charcoal and then move
on to acrylic painting. The studio atmosphere is serious yet fun.
I put a high emphasis on quality and technique, sometimes using unusual
tools and elements to achieve the finial result. I have a great deal of
patience and I let each child work at their own pace. Art also develops
eye hand coordination and a confidence to pursue and succeed in other
areas of interest.
Each year The Tiny Artist holds an exhibit at one of the local libraries
so that the children can display their work. This is their time to shine
and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the glow on your child's
face.
Not every one of my students will pursue a career in the art field; however
my aim is to teach them that if they work hard and follow their dreams
they will achieve their goals.
